Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at those who manage care and support services within the adult care sector (England). The qualification aims to develop learners' skills and knowledge in leadership and management to ensure that services can respond fully to the needs and aspirations of those that use their provision. The qualification develops leadership skills, innovation and entrepreneurial skills, the importance of embedding robust values and commitment to partnership working.
This new qualification contains Skills for Care's minimum requirements for developing and confirming the competence of those who are working within adult care services in England as managers. This qualification will support the new Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship standard.
How long will it take?
The total qualification time (TQT) for this qualification is 800 hours and of this 582 are recommended as guided learning.

Mandatory topics include: principles of leadership and management, team leadership, principles governance, regulatory processes, communication and information management, partnership working, outcomes based person centred practice, equality, diversity and inclusion, continuous improvement, principles of professional development, supervision and performance management, resource management, safeguarding and protection, health and safety, risk taking and risk management, managing concerns and complaints, self-management for leadership, decision making, entrepreneurial skills, principles of innovation and change.
